You Come To Me In Dreams

The moon is shining through my window.
The city sleeps beneath the stars.
But I can't close my eyes tonight.
I'm thinking of you, wherever you are.
All the words I never told you,
I whisper softly in my sleep.
I'm so afraid that I might lose you
when you're so close but out of reach.
You come to me in dreams,
like the spring after winter leaves.
Like a whisper in the night,
like the answer deep inside.
I keep searching in the shadows,
in the water's silver glow.
You come to me and once again, I never wanna let you go.
You smile at me inside my dreams, and suddenly the world feels bright.
I reach my hands out to hold you, but morning takes you from my side.
The daylight fades away like smoke.
I wait until the evening falls,
